The state and the municipalities that own the West Railway venture have finally agreed on financing for the first phase of the high-speed train project.
The company allegedly accepted cash payments of up to tens of thousands of euros by customers from countries outside the EEA, according to the Regional State Administrative Agency of Southern Finland.
For Valmet Automotive, the deal could be a shot in the arm. The firm plans to cut more than 1,000 jobs, as its contract to manufacture Mercedes-Benz cars in Uusikaupunki expires soon.
